Description & features
Plugline Low Back Pressure Pipe Test Plugs are versatile, lightweight sealing solutions designed for joint integrity testing and long-term pipeline protection. These plugs are the ideal choice for air leak testing and for providing a secure barrier against external contaminants. Their flexible design makes them particularly effective in scenarios where flow must continue or be redirected while maintenance or repairs are conducted on-site.
Key Features
- Pneumatic Joint Testing: Specifically engineered for localized air leak testing, ensuring that pipe joints meet strict airtightness standards.
- Reinforced rubber construction: size range 300 — 1100 mm, working pressure 1,5 bar, back pressure 0,3 bar, operating temperature −40 to 70 °C, Quick Coupling / Schrader air connection.
- Contamination Barrier: Effectively seals unused pipe sections to prevent dust, debris, and foreign objects from entering during the manufacturing or construction phases.
- Integrated Bypass: Equipped with a flow-through capability that allows for the safe redirection of fluids, preventing system pressure buildup during repairs.
- Low Pressure Optimization: Designed for applications where high back-pressure is not present, offering a more portable and easily handled alternative to heavy-duty plugs.
- Durable Lightweight Construction: Manufactured from high-quality reinforced rubber that provides a reliable seal without the excessive weight of high-pressure models.
Advantages
- System Protection: Acts as a vital safeguard for pipelines that are offline for extended periods, maintaining internal cleanliness for future commissioning.
- Operational Flexibility: The bypass feature allows for ongoing system flow, significantly reducing the impact on surrounding utility services during maintenance.
- Rapid Deployment: Their lightweight profile ensures they can be quickly installed and removed by a single operator, minimizing labor costs.
- Cost-Effective Testing: Provides a reliable and affordable solution for routine pneumatic joint validation and temporary blanking.
- Adaptable Sealing: Flexible enough to conform to minor internal pipe surface irregularities, ensuring a consistent and secure fit.
Application Areas
- Pipeline Manufacturing: Used to blank off pipe ends during storage and transport to protect the interior from environmental debris.
- Joint Integrity Testing: The go-to tool for contractors conducting air-based leakage tests on newly installed drainage or low-pressure lines.
- Infrastructure Repair: Ideal for isolating pipe sections for repair while using the bypass to manage existing flow.
- Long-Term Decommissioning: Provides a secure, temporary seal for pipelines that will remain inactive for weeks or months.
- New Construction Projects: Essential for keeping utility lines clean and clear of site rubble before the final system handover.
Plugline Low Back Pressure Pipe Test Plugs offer a practical, efficient, and reliable solution for professionals who need to maintain the cleanliness and integrity of pipeline systems under low-pressure conditions.
Recommended deployment procedure
Plugline Inflatable Pipe Stoppers are used for sealing, blocking and pressure testing pipework. Follow the procedure below for safe installation and removal.
Verify each stopper for surface defects. Confirm reference matches purchase order. Pre-test in a clean environment to nominal 0.5 bar.
Insert deflated. Place at least two pipe-diameters inside the bore. Secure the connector hose to the inflation valve.
Inflate to nominal pressure indicated on the datasheet. Hold for 60 seconds and verify seal under audible test.
Perform line test per EN 1610 or local code. Record drop, hold time, ambient temperature.
Deflate fully before withdrawal. Inspect for damage. Stopper may be reused for up to 200 cycles under nominal conditions.
