Description & features

Plugline High-Pressure Inflatable Pipe Stoppers are engineered for extreme environments where standard plugs cannot perform. Specifically designed for high-pressure pipelines, these stoppers provide a powerful and secure seal to test integrity and stop the flow in high-demand industrial and municipal systems. Constructed with reinforced, high-grade materials, they offer the structural strength necessary to withstand significant back-pressure during critical maintenance and testing.

Key Features

  • High-Pressure Engineering: Reinforced construction specifically designed to maintain a secure seal in pipelines under extreme pressure conditions.
  • Reinforced rubber construction: size range DN50 — DN1000, working pressure 6,0 / 12,0 bar, back pressure 3,0 / 6,0 bar, operating temperature −40 to 70 °C, Quick Coupling / Schrader air connection.
  • Superior Flow Control: Engineered to completely stop the flow in active lines, allowing for safe isolation and immediate repair work.
  • Dual-Purpose Functionality: Ideal for both high-pressure integrity testing and temporary flow blockage during heavy-duty industrial tasks.
  • Adaptive Inflatable Design: Provides a high-friction, airtight seal that conforms to various pipe diameters and internal surface conditions.
  • Rugged Durability: Built from premium, tear-resistant compounds to survive harsh environments and exposure to industrial chemicals.

Advantages

  • Maximum Safety: Ensures the secure isolation of high-pressure sections, protecting technicians and equipment from high-velocity flow or pressure surges.
  • Reduced Operational Downtime: Enables rapid blockage and testing, allowing industrial processes or municipal services to resume as quickly as possible.
  • Extreme Versatility: While designed for high-pressure systems, these stoppers are adaptable across a wide range of pipeline materials and diameters.
  • Long-Term Reliability: Reusable and built to last, providing a high return on investment for contractors managing demanding infrastructure.
  • Efficient Deployment: Despite their heavy-duty rating, they remain portable and straightforward to install, reducing labor effort in the field.

Application Areas

  • High-Pressure Pipeline Testing: The go-to solution for conducting hydrostatic and pneumatic strength tests in newly installed or rehabilitated lines.
  • Industrial Plants & Refineries: Essential for isolating high-pressure process lines in factories, power plants, and refineries during shutdowns.
  • Municipal Water & Sewer Mains: Used for high-pressure sealing in major water distribution and sewage trunk lines.
  • Hydrostatic Pressure Testing: Sealing one or both ends of a pipe section to test for leaks under pressure.
  • Construction & Engineering: Vital for isolating pipe sections during complex infrastructure projects where high-flow management is critical.

Plugline High-Pressure Inflatable Pipe Stoppers provide the ultimate barrier for professionals who need to safely test and stop the flow in the most challenging high-pressure pipeline environments.

Recommended deployment procedure

Plugline Inflatable Pipe Stoppers are used for sealing, blocking and pressure testing pipework. Follow the procedure below for safe installation and removal.

01
Inspect

Verify each stopper for surface defects. Confirm reference matches purchase order. Pre-test in a clean environment to nominal 0.5 bar.

02
Position

Insert deflated. Place at least two pipe-diameters inside the bore. Secure the connector hose to the inflation valve.

03
Inflate

Inflate to nominal pressure indicated on the datasheet. Hold for 60 seconds and verify seal under audible test.

04
Test

Perform line test per EN 1610 or local code. Record drop, hold time, ambient temperature.

05
Recover

Deflate fully before withdrawal. Inspect for damage. Stopper may be reused for up to 200 cycles under nominal conditions.
