Pipe Protection and Maintenance Sleeves
Abrasion-resistant outer sleeves protecting stoppers from harsh-bore environments.
- Size range50 — 2400 mm
- MaterialRubber
Description & features
Plugline Protective Sleeves are essential defensive accessories designed to extend the operational life of inflatable pipe stoppers. Engineered to act as a sacrificial barrier, these sleeves wrap securely around the stopper to provide a rugged outer layer that prevents surface damage in harsh environments. Critically, Plugline Protective Sleeves have no influence on the back pressure rating of the pipe stoppers, ensuring that safety and performance specifications remain consistent.
Key Features
- Abrasion & Cut Resistance: Specifically designed to shield the inflatable bladder from sharp objects, jagged pipe edges, and abrasive debris.
- Rubber construction: size range 50 — 2400 mm.
- Zero Pressure Interference: Precision-engineered to allow the stopper to expand naturally, maintaining the original back pressure and sealing capabilities of the tool.
- Heavy-Duty Materials: Manufactured from high-tenacity, wear-resistant fabrics that withstand the rigors of frequent insertion and removal.
- Universal Compatibility: Available in various sizes to fit the full range of Plugline inflatable pipe stoppers and test plugs.
- Easy Installation: Designed for a snug, secure fit that can be quickly applied or removed by field technicians.
Advantages
- Extended Equipment Lifespan: Significantly reduces the risk of punctures and surface cuts, protecting your investment in high-quality pipe stoppers.
- Reduced Operational Costs: By preventing expensive damage to the underlying stopper, these sleeves minimize the need for frequent equipment replacement or repairs.
- Enhanced Reliability: Provides an extra layer of confidence when deploying stoppers into aging or damaged pipelines where internal surfaces may be compromised.
- Low Maintenance: Easily cleaned and inspected, these sleeves are a simple, cost-effective way to maintain fleet readiness.
Application Areas
- Aging Sewer Rehabilitation: Essential when inserting stoppers into pipes with root intrusion, calcification, or fractured walls that could puncture a bare rubber plug.
- Hydrostatic Pressure Testing: Sealing one or both ends of a pipe section to test for leaks under pressure.
- Construction Sites: Ideal for use in new installations where construction debris or gravel may be present inside the pipeline.
- High-Frequency Deployment: Recommended for contractors who utilize their pipe stoppers daily and require maximum durability for repeated use.
Plugline Protective Sleeves are the ultimate insurance policy for your pipe sealing equipment, providing a tough, reliable shield that ensures your stoppers perform perfectly, project after project.
Recommended deployment procedure
Plugline Protective Sleeves slip over an inflatable stopper or test plug to protect the rubber body from sharp edges, debris, and abrasive bores. Follow the steps below for correct installation.
Pick a sleeve size that matches the deflated product diameter. The sleeve should fit snugly without forcing.
With the stopper / test plug fully deflated, slide the sleeve over the body until it sits centred along the rubber.
Insert the assembly into the pipe, position it against the seal point, and inflate the stopper as normal. The sleeve takes the abrasion against the bore.
After deflation and removal, inspect the sleeve for wear or cuts. Replace if the rubber underneath is exposed. Rinse with water and store dry.
