Description & features

Plugline Cone Test Plugs are high-performance sealing solutions specifically designed for the maintenance and validation of sewers, drainage systems, and pipelines. Featuring a unique tapered geometry, these plugs are engineered to provide a secure seal in non-circular cross-sections, making them the ideal choice for irregular profiles that standard plugs cannot accommodate.

Key Features

  • Irregular Profile Compatibility: Specifically designed for use in non-circular cross-sections, such as egg-shaped, rectangular, or U-shaped channels.
  • Reinforced rubber construction: size range DN50 — DN1500, working pressure 0,4 / 0,5 / 1,0 bar, back pressure 0,2 / 0,3 / 0,5 bar, operating temperature −40 to 70 °C, Quick Coupling / Schrader air connection.
  • Advanced Material Technology: Constructed from a specialized chloroprene and aramid fabric, reinforced with hot vulcanized rubber for maximum durability and flexibility.
  • Broad Diameter Range: The conical taper allows a single plug to cover a wider variety of pipe diameters compared to conventional cylindrical plugs.
  • High Chemical Resistance: Formulated to provide superior resistance to aggressive chemicals and hazardous fluids found in industrial and sewage environments.
  • Standard & High-Pressure Options: Features a standard working pressure of 1.0 Bar (14.50 psi), with customizable versions available for even higher pressure requirements.

Advantages

  • Versatile Testing Capability: The primary tool for leak locating and professional testing with air or water, ensuring pipelines meet strict environmental standards.
  • Superior Reinforcement: The aramid fabric reinforcement ensures the plug maintains its shape and seal integrity under significant back-pressure.
  • Operational Flexibility: Essential for fixing accidental issues, technical support, and the systematic repair of municipal gullies and drainage networks.
  • Cost-Efficiency: Because one plug fits more sizes and shapes than traditional models, it reduces the total amount of inventory needed on-site.
  • Extreme Durability: The hot vulcanized rubber construction is built to withstand the physical rigors of frequent deployment in abrasive environments.

Application Areas

  • Sewer & Drainage Repair: Perfect for sealing and isolating sections of municipal sewer lines during structural rehabilitation.
  • Leak Detection & Testing: Used by technicians to conduct precise hydrostatic or pneumatic tests to identify compromises in pipeline integrity.
  • Non-Circular Pipelines: The go-to solution for older infrastructure or specialized industrial culverts with irregular shapes.
  • Accidental Issue Management: Provides a rapid, reliable response for temporary blockage during emergency repairs or accidental overflows.
  • Hydrostatic Pressure Testing: Sealing one or both ends of a pipe section to test for leaks under pressure.

Plugline Cone Test Plugs offer unmatched flexibility and strength, providing a professional-grade sealing solution for both standard circular pipes and complex, non-circular infrastructure.

Recommended deployment procedure

Plugline Inflatable Pipe Stoppers are used for sealing, blocking and pressure testing pipework. Follow the procedure below for safe installation and removal.

01
Inspect

Verify each stopper for surface defects. Confirm reference matches purchase order. Pre-test in a clean environment to nominal 0.5 bar.

02
Position

Insert deflated. Place at least two pipe-diameters inside the bore. Secure the connector hose to the inflation valve.

03
Inflate

Inflate to nominal pressure indicated on the datasheet. Hold for 60 seconds and verify seal under audible test.

04
Test

Perform line test per EN 1610 or local code. Record drop, hold time, ambient temperature.

05
Recover

Deflate fully before withdrawal. Inspect for damage. Stopper may be reused for up to 200 cycles under nominal conditions.
